Goldfish Reality

Published by Andrew Bernardin at 11:57 am under nature photos, philosophy

None of my backyard goldfish will ever see the topside “reality” of a lily blossom. Are human minds likewise limited, mine included?

Yes and no. “Yes” because our minds are fallible, limited organs. “No” because the tools we have developed and are developing are extending the horizon of our observations. Are there discoveries of a new dimension awaiting the tools necessary to allow them to blossom into our consciousness? I hope and think so.

i can’t tell you how often I have thought the same exact thing. There are deep sea creatures living out their lives right now knowing nothing of light and air, yet there *is* light and air.
