The Journey

It is often said that what matters most is not the destination, but the journey. I wonder, without destinations, or at least milestones and markers of progress and/or goals met, whether or not we would find mere movement satisfying (waterslides notwithstanding).
Of course one should probably view cliches as little bits of cognitive medicine that are not cure-alls but verbal devices used to direct our attention to something currently in view, or something just around the bend; or as suggestions that help us better travel or better appreciate the travelling.
