Ivy Leaf Questions

The ivy on our property seems very resistant to bugs. No aphids, no leaf-miners. I wonder if it is in part due to the relatively tough, waxy quality of the leaves. Sometimes a grasshopper will chew at them, having the mandible strength, perhaps, necessary to break through to the nutrients.

Or maybe the name scares the pests off: pothos, or “Devil’s” ivy.
